Goffin's cockatoo

The Goffin’s cockatoo is one of the smallest cockatoos. It is endemic to the Tanimbar Islands located South-West from New Guinea, thus it is also called Tanimbar Corella. Due to deforestation its natural habitat is diminishing, therefore the subsistence of the species is threatened. The genders are similar, they can only be differentiated based on their iris, as the iris of adult females are reddish, while adult males have a black iris.
