The lion is the second largest felid after the tiger, and the only one that hunts in prides, too. Lions can be found in open grassy or woody savannahs, they are masters of making use of even the smallest cover when stalking for their prey. Most of the times the females do the hunting for the pride, but after they return with their prey males immediately appear to get their portion.
